St. Patty's Day Treats!!!

I was browsing blogs the other day and came upon some of the cutest treats for St. Patrick's Day posted at On a Whimm I decided to try them out and take them in for school friends today.

Girlie LOVED helping lay everything out and more importantly making sure the chocolate wasn't going to hurt anyone LOL

We made a ton - 50 to be exact.

I just think they are so adorable!

She picked out a clip art and we just made a label for Ziploc bags. Each kid got two a piece and the teachers got 3.

I didn't have any fancy box to put them in so I just lined a shoebox with foil. It worked well enough lol

The class was excited to see a treat coming in this morning. They are fragile though so I had to be careful! I'll report back later after they have actually been taste tested!

Back in the saddle, oh pool I guess!

Girlie's swim lessons started again on Sunday.
She had her last one in late November so it has been awhile since the last set. She did great though. A little rusty but overall a great swimmer, still!

I just love Sweetman Swim. We're so lucky that Mr. Gareth is such a good teacher and has a real passion for helping children save their lives in the water. We love him and can't wait to have more lessons next week and then this summer!

I was afraid her knowledge of jump and roll had left her, but on the first try just like riding a bike she did it!

It's so great to know that in the event of her falling into a body of water she has the tools to be able not to drown. Since we have a pool it was always a big worry of mine. She still needs work, but we're getting there for sure!

Maybe someday I'll have an olympic athelete on my hands! GO FOR THE GOLD BABY! Let's just hope she doesn't go Michael Phelps on us. lol just teasing!

Happy 52 to Momma!

My mom's birthday was last Friday. She turned the big 52! She's great for 52 and even better now that she's being a good girl and taking care of herself.

We had dinner at SOL Restaurant with friends. Oh it was great! Good food and good fun!

After dinner we headed back home for cake & gifts. I decorated just a bit to make it festive looking.

We ordered a plain white frosted cake from our local bakery and Girlie had fun decorating it with all sorts of yummy items!

Getting a taste of the icing - yum!

SPRINKLES!!!

THE END RESULT

We got her an MP3 player and Girlie painted her some suncatchers (which I have yet to take a pictures of - bad mommy!)

Mom loved her cake and didn't have a bit of trouble blowing out the candles... hehe

She enjoyed decorating the cake but enjoyed eating it much more!

On Saturday we rented a limo and went OUT ON THE TOWN! Girlie stayed with our dear friend (whom I thank a bunch - *VH* AE) and we had an adult night - WOOHOO!

Deborah & I - woa we're hot! lol

Our first stop was dinner at Chappy's . The food was great but the service was slow. I'd recommend going there, just don't be in any hurry to eat and go! Make that your only reservation! They gave your leftovers in foil shaped as a swan - so funny. Pat got hers and had to play with it. It made for a great topic of conversation!

Next was The Melting Pot for dessert! Gotta love chocolate fondue. We had the Original (chocolate with crunchy peanut butter - TO DIE FOR!) and the Flaming Turtle (chocolate with caramel and nuts - good but not as to die for as the original).

We were all finished by then, it was already 11:00 pm so we decided to call it a night. It was such a great time! I'm so glad that I like hanging out with my coworkers even on non-work hours.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! I hope it was a good one!

Fun at work!

I have to admit that we have fun at my work a great deal but I actually get to do things that I love doing in my job as well. Including making invitations and signs, etc for different things. My latest fun thing was making an invitation for our Oscar themed Annual Manager's Meeting.

I don't care for how they had me do the bottom part of it to put the logo on there but I love the concept alot!
My director's clapboard invite!

It actually moves!

LOVE IT!

Seussdays come to an end...

I totally lost track of posting daily the Seuss activities so I'll finish up today!

Wednesday was wacky sock day. Girlie wore the cutest and most outrageous socks. BRIGHT green with ONE eye and a mouth! :) Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. :) LOVE it!

Thursday was Theodore Day and they got to bring a Dr. Seuss show and tell item. The only thing we had was a stuffed Grinch so she took "Grinchy" to school with her.

Friday was just suppose to be Green Eggs & Ham day and Girlie said they didn't make them, so I'm not sure.
But I wore my Cat in the Hat shirt for the ocassion. I wish Girlie had a shirt. I should have made her one. One girl at school had a Thing 2 shirt on and her bro had a Thing 1 shirt on - so cute!

The kids loved my shirt and I got bombarded as soon as I entered the classroom. Peeps at work think I'm nuts anyway and this just confirmed that fact lol

So Seuss week was a hit and now I'm still addicted to all things Dr. Seuss! That man was a genius!

Hope everyone is adjusting to the new time. It's so hard to change ONE HOUR! Why?

HAPPY MONDAY!

Seuss take 2

Seems that Mix Up Monday was a success! :) I'm so glad they had a nice time. Top Hat Tuesday seemed to fair well with the kiddos as well!

They made a top hat that reflected their very own style. The teacher told them that they could make a Cat in the Hat one but the Cat's hat was his own style and maybe they could just make one that they wanted too, so that they did! Here she is in her flowery top hat

I wanted to make something for the kids to eat during snack time that day so I took a Cat in the Hat treat idea and put it atop a yummy cupcake that was filled with colorful bursts inside

not the greatest picture because I forgot to take one before I put them in the container and this is quickly before I took them into school.

But the teacher took one of them in their hats holding their cupcakes for me! HOW CUTE ARE THESE KIDDOS?

Wacky Wednesday today! I'll have to grab a pic of Girlie's wacky socks. i wish I could get one of all the feets in together at school with their wacky socks... hum.... thinking.. thinking...

lol Oh to be a kid again!
