Swimmin' Girlie

Saturday was Girlie's first swim meet with her swim team the PCA Sea Lions :) She competed in three different heats, 25 Freestyle, 50 Freestyle and 25 backstroke. Her freestyle was just that "free" but her backstroke was completely "UH-MAZING!" She rocked it.

I don't have any pictures to share because stupid me totally left my camera on a bench in the girls locker room there and I called this morning and am hoping with all hope that someone was nice and turned it in, but my nice camera might be gone forever :( I'm holding out some hope but I'm afraid it might be gone. But anyway, here is the video of her backstroke. She's at the top of the screen and TURN DOWN/OFF YOUR SOUND! I'm loud screaming during it. I was so excited!

beautiful backstroke

We are so proud of her. She did so great! She loved it too and couldn't wait to tell everyone how she did!

Hoping I find my camera so I can share pics!

Thanksgiving luncheon at school

Just a few hours ago we headed over to Girlie's school to have lunch with her for Thanksgiving. I just love this luncheon. It's only our second one but it's so wonderful. The food it devine and the company is even better!

We had a wonderful Turkey day meal and spent some time with our girlie too. She had four people there with her, loved much? I kept calling us Girlie's Entourage!!

My cute girlie this morning before school (I made her shirt for today)

Waiting patiently for her food

In her Indian hat she made

Then we add one more and it just gets better (with Nannie)

Then we add another and we become HER ENTOURAGE (with Aunt Shelly)

It was a great time. We have lots more wonderful meals coming up, check back for more pics from the holidays!

Project No. 4,101,230

I'm always into something... always! With the holidays coming up there are lots of parties and get togethers and I LOVE it all!

Girlie's school is no exception and I get involved there any way I can. They are super great to their teachers and always have a Christmas party for them. This year they are having a spa themed party and I was asked to make the invitation. They wanted it Christmasy and this is what I came up with

I like the way they turned out and I can't wait for them to see them. I'll be dropping them off tonight.

Now it's on to invitations for Girlie's birthday party. I'm having the hardest time loving something. I've got a million ideas swimming around too. Ah, something will come to me.

Hope everyone is having a splendid week!

What a nutty bunch I have!

I don't have much to update on these days. Our life is pretty "run of the mill" most of the the time lately. However, I'm sure with the holidays and Girlie's birthday coming up there will be more interesting posts to come.

This one is to, well, show you how nutty my family is! She loves to make us laugh and well she gets that from both James and I but her latest craziness was taken straight from her Dad!

Needless to say there isn't a dull moment in our house!
The funniest thing is that she would not move an inch until I got out my cell phone and took a picture. She LOVES to entertain! She also loves to document, which she gets from me :)

And here's the reason why she did this with her playdough! Oh this man cracks me up!

Showering my boss!

Monday afternoon we had a shower in our boardroom for my boss and his wife. They are expecting their first bundle of joy in the near future and we wanted to show just how excited we were. I found a wonderful idea online at HWTM. I thought it was the perfect idea for my boss and his wife and their style and the fact that they weren't finding out the gender of the baby. I've seen plenty of gender neutral showers, but this one had a very chic twist I think! :)

Basically the theme was B is for Baby. With Bumble Bees and yellow, gray and white as a color scheme.

Pics of decor

Advice for the parents-to-BEE hehe

Bees were everywhere... I made them from foam. Cut the body out of black, the wings out of white and the strips out of yellow. Then I stuck them all together and used black pipe cleaner for the antenna.

I made this banner with scrapbook paper, ribbon and cardstock. I really need a Cricut though, I hadcut the letters from print outs and it wasn't easy.

The favors were these mini jars of honey "Thanks for BEEING so sweet!"

The cupcakes, oh the cupcakes. My bakery did a fantastic job! WOA were they delicious!

My boss thought he was coming to the conference room for a meeting. He had NO CLUE!!

But he was really excited once he figured it out! He even said "This is the best surprise ever!"

Everyone ate and mingled. It was a great time. They really got some nice gifts too!

Congrats Will & Sara!!! We can't wait to meet the baby!

Trick or Treat

Now that we're onto November I guess it's finally time for me to post about our Halloween!
We had lots of fun festivites. We did the Ghouls at Grassmere (zoo), our annual pumpkin patch visit, carved our pumpkins, Girle's school festival and then trick or treating. It was all just wondreful fun!

Her school had truck-or-treat. I had so much tropical stuff left over that I made good use of it. That blue thing with fish is what I made the kids "fish" for their treats. I took a yard stick and tied a little bucket to the end of it. They loved it.

Me and my Dorothy

Halloween night we went to my cousin's neighborhood. It was way more kid-friendly and lots of houses. Needless to say she racked up on candy.
"There's no place like home."

We always take a family pic (of course it's a self portrait so it's not centered lol)

I also always take a picture at her first house. It's normally our direct neighbor but since we went to a different neighborhood I have no idea who it was. lol

This year she RAN from house to house. She was so into it and I loved every moment.

Proof that my husband is the funniest guy on the planet. I'm so lucky to have him. He makes me laugh so hard and I love it! Honey, you are so hilarious!

It was a great holiday overall. Now we're gearing up for Thanksgiving. Hope everyone had a safe Halloween.
