Happy Fall Ya'll!

Today has been a busy day. We've packed two cars (SUV and a large family car) FULL of stuff to take to Girlie's school for their annual yard sale. It's bittersweet too because tons of that stuff is all baby stuff that was hers. Car seat, stroller and walker, not counting TONS of toys. We're 99.9% sure we won't have anymore babes so we're ditching it. I still haven't given a stitch of clothing away, problem much?

But anyway, she decided she wanted to do this today

Silly girl, it's September 27th for goodness sake, but she enjoyed it for all of 7 mins., see

But then she wanted to do this...

what REALLY should be happening during fall.

She loves playing with bubbles too

I'm so glad to finally enjoy outside again. It's nice to be able to go out without being flooding or having to be covered in plastic from head to toe to stay dry. Really beautiful day!

A look back

Next weekend is James' 20 year High School reunion in Louisville and it's got me all nostalgic. Well, truth is I've been nostalgic about high school since football season started this year and my friend's son plays in the marching band.

I remember those days. Learning shows, playing awesome tunes and really really loving doing it. It's been LOTS of years since I've picked up an instrument. I don't have it anymore either. Ya know, I just really really love marching band. Anything pertaining to it. All things about it. I JUST LOVE IT! I played in band from 6th grade to 12th and regretted not going to a college that allowed me to continue ever since. I wouldn't trade the college I went to for anything. The experience there was, well, interesting, but I made the most amazing friends and that I wouldn't trade.

The beginning of fall and football season always take me back to those days. It's like the smell of fall and marching on the turf go hand in hand. I literally still get chills when I watch a band perform and I love watching the kids act so silly and be so completely wrapped up in the moment. Oh those were the days.

Recently, one of my Facebook friends posted pics from our band days... oh gosh I have to share them...

This is more a pic of her but if you look closely, that's me in the white jacket - Ms. Field Commander herself :)

Me again, leading our band in the parade. Look at our little podunk town!

None of me here, but band... all band :)

And yes we were small, but man were we mighty! So many memories here. I cherish each one!

S-P-E-L-L

Girlie's preschool cirriculum is in full swing now. They are learning all sorts of things but one of their weekly assignments consists of learning a few site words for a spelling test. Last week her site words were the, to and it. She had her test on Friday and I loved what I saw when she brought her paper home!

My smart smart girl. This week is red & blue. She's already doing great with them so I'm excited for another smilie face paper!

I also have to share just a few pics of her for fun.

Water all over her at the Discovery Center on Saturday

This she took of herself yesterday (isn't she the cutest thing ever?)

Her favorite shoes, she won't take them off!! and oh, she took this one too. See, she loves them so much that she's taking pictures of them!

Ahhh, to be a Mom of a Diva! :)

I'll have more pics of the Discovery Center & Swim Team tryouts soon.
