Wonderful summer weekends

and this past one was no exception!

We had a wonderful weekend and we were not pleased to see it come to an end.
Saturday, Girlie had her first salon visit complete with mani, pedi and a new do! She loved it. We'll certainly be doing it again.

Then on Sunday we worked so hard on our back yard. We filled in our pond and made a new "home" for her playhouse

It was a great weekend and I was NOT ready to return to work today. I'm just glad that it's a short week :) We'll be heading to Louisville to see the family this weekend and celebrate our nephew's birthday. I'm looking forward to a visit to the Zoo and the Louisville Riverbats game! FUN TIMES!!

8 weeks and still going...

Today marked 8 weeks of my new healthy journey! At weigh in today I lost another 3.8 pounds.
Putting the total weight loss for 8 weeks at


25.6 pounds!


So I'm rounding and saying 26 pounds :)

SO PROUD of myself! For once in my life I'm really really proud of something I've accomplished! But I really feel like this is still just the beginning! :) I'm so ready for more! I've not seen the weight I'm at in YEARS! YEARS I tell ya! It feels good to say goodbye to those pounds, to say "goodbye and I'll never see you again!"

5K Success!!

The Walk for Wishes went off perfectly! The weather was a little iffy at first but it quickly cleared for a beautiful day of running/walking, um walking for us. The buzzer sounded and we took off at an early 8:30 am!

Amy and I started out great and kept up our good pace. 3.2 miles is no joke. We didn't really think we would run any. Well, we might have for like 1.2 seconds lol. There were less people than I thought there would be but it was great nonetheless.

We finally reached 1 mile!

Then 2

Then 3

AND WE FINALLY FINISHED! In under an hour notice (52.20 minutes) and we weren't last. :) In fact, we weren't really even that close to last.

I think the overall winner ran it in like 19 mins. CRAZY! 3.2 miles in 19 mins. We joked that he had a shower and was reading a book by the time we came in, he really could have been!

We had the best time! And we had the BEST contributors! Team Flower Power raised $320 for Make a Wish foundation and for that we thank you!

Flower Power will be walking again! You can bet on it. I'm already excited for our next 5k! Thanks Amy for being such a great walking buddy. You're the best!

On my way home later that day the sky was just the most gorgeous blue so I had to snap a picture! It was a great end to a wonderful day.

Feeling Nostalgic

Since Summer is here and we are trying to figure out where we will go on our vacation this year I've been searching online at a great deal of locations, ideas, etc. Today I started my search again but thought, I'm going to look for our old hotel in Treasure Island, FL. I was so happy when I found that it's still in business and just as I remember it was.
We went to The Sands every year when I was growing up. We started going there when I was about 8 and seriously went every year for a long time. The last time I was there was 12 years ago or so. WOW! Time flies but some things never change and this place hasn't changed much at all. Which makes it even greater to me.

Seeing this online made me just flashback immediately! It's such a mediocre place but OMG it means so much to me!

They've definitely put in a new pool since then...

but they still have shuffle board and I truly believe the same exact dining tables as before. I also wonder if they have the same ping pong table out back and the same board games in the front lobby that you can borrow to play! OMG!

I've walked that sidewalk to the entrance and beach more times than I can count and seriously I'm nearly in tears remembering how great it was! I wish I had pictures of myself at these places. I know I have some someplace and I'm sure my grandparents have them someplace too. I will find them! Oh the memories this place holds for me. I'd love nothing more than to visit there this summer with Girlie!

Weekend of Fun! v.2

The weekend was so packed with fun it takes 2 posts! See other below :)


Sunday after church we had a picnic for Girlie's school. Of course she had to go in full fashion! WATERMELONS of course - for a picnic... it's a must! (another cell phone pic)what you can't see in this picture is the adorable watermelon shaped purse that goes with it!

The school provided the meat and the parents brought sides, etc. It was so much fun. We thought the weather wasn't going to hold but it did and it was fabulous. The kids played so much and the parents ate so much - me included lol

The best part was that James' parents got to stay and enjoy the picnic as well! It was so great.
I love seeing her interact with her teachers and friends outside of school. It was funny watching some of the younger ones thinking "hey, I'm not sure I want to see you today because when I see you it usually means my Mommy or Daddy is leaving me" lol It was bunches of fun though.

After the picnic we crashed HARD! We had a long but wonderful weekend!

Weekend of Fun! v. 1

This weekend was VERY busy for us. In fact, it was almost as if we didn't have one at all. Saturday morning we had a birthday party at Sweet & Sassy. OMG it was fun. We've never been there before and Girlie LOVED it. We will most definitely be going back. I totally forgot BOTH cameras at home so these are all taken with my cell phone.

We had a blast and so did his parents! FUN TIMES that didn't end until around 1 am.

TWENTY!

I'm so excited to announce that as of today with another 2.8 pounds lost this week (6 weeks into this journey) I've lost a total of 20 POUNDS!! I'm so pumped! 6 weeks 20 pounds gone! What a milestone for me. I've never lost 20 pounds ever.

I'm very proud of me. Everyone around me as really been the most supportive and encouraging and well just overall FANTASTIC!!! I'm so blessed.

I'm gearing up for a weekend of fun. Going to the CMA Music Festival tomorrow night with my Mother-in-law and Father-in-law, fun fun. Two birthday parties and a picnic this weekend too! BUSY!
