First day of BIG GIRL SCHOOL!

Today my baby started Kindergarten.

I was so emotional over the past weeks about it, but believe it or not today I'm perfectly fine!

Missing her like crazy though!

My big big girl! (and her Bitty baby in her uniform too)

I love this one of her walking up to the school

and this one in the hallway

and this one with Ms. Poole

And this one as I was leaving. Clearly she could have cared less LOL
I love the little boy looking at her too hehe.

Ahhhh new adventures are in store.
I'm already so excited to hear about her day. She only has 1/2 day today so it won't be too much longer!
I can't believe my baby is old enough for kindergarten!
I'm so proud!

Preschooler gifts

Go over to my creative blog and see what I made Girlie's friends as a gift for their graduation. It was really easy and totally afforadable and OH SO CUTE, if I say so myself!

Go see HERE! :)

End of Preschool makeover

Friday after preschool let out early I surprised girlie with a makeover.

She had her nails painted...

Her hair washed/cut/styled :) complete with glittery face art.

then she had a pedicure fit for a princess. How adorable is that chair? I want one at home.

We forgot flip flops for after so they cut down the adult size to fit her, it was hilarious.

She had a great day. We followed up by shopping a bit and picking up a cookie cake for after graduation the next day.

I think celebrating her that day really made her happy! :) And I ADORE her new hair do!

Officially a Kindergartener

These pictures have already been emailed, facebooked, scattered, smothered and covered but I'm going to post them again!

This past weekend we celebrated a fun fun time. Girlie graduated from Preschool. My baby is now offically a kindergartener and will begin school on Thursday, my heart aches!

Look how big she is.

We are so very blessed to have the very best family and friends surrounding us during our celebrations.
Nannie (oh and Bitty, too as you can see)
Mamaw & Papaw

Aunt Shelly

and our close dear friends we consider family, the Robertsons, who are not pictured!
As the ceremony began and the slideshow of the year ended the Pomp & Circumstance played and I LOST IT!
My baby big girl, walking in. She seems very nervous to me.

They sang songs and had cute sayings they did and each child told what their favorite thing about the year was, with 90% of them saying "Playing outside" lol mine included.
At the end after it was all over, they played "Shake Your Groove Thang!" and the kids got down. It was adorable! Girlie took a minute to get going but she did a little.

My graduate!!!

We are such a proud Momma & Daddy!

We're so proud of her and so excited for this next step in her life. I know she will excel but it sure won't stop me from hunkering in the corner in fetal position for the first week of school. How can I be the Mom of a Kindy-gartener?
I have more to share, including fun pics from a surprise after her last day of preschool.
She's grown up so fast... can time stand still now?

Chicago - the rest of the story

The last part of my Chicago trip tale feels like it's straight out of a movie.
Oh wait, it IS straight out of a movie. Little did we know that while we were in Chicago they were filming a movie.

The scene set ups were everywhere and lots of places we weren't even allowed to walk, etc.

But this was the one we saw the closest. They set this up for a few days later...

This too, mass destruction by those bots!

Can you tell which movie they were filming by this picture?
(and if you are my friend on FB you already know so that's cheating)

It was Transformers 3. I can't wait to see it!
The last day we saw the coolest part. We were joyfully enjoying a walk on our last day and saw tons of people gathered and kept looking where they were looking and then

THIS happened (ignore the bird on the top of the pic, look half way down middle)
JUMPERS!

They jumped right off Trump tower, the VERY top people! Scary. After they landed you heard a bunch of gun fire and screeching, I can not wait to see this movie. It really will be something I was "part" of in a way.
I really have liked all the Transformers movies so far and I know this one will not disappoint. It was such a fun little addition to our amazing weekend getaway.
That's all I have about Chicago for now (and I think ever until going back hehe) but a week from today my BABY GOES TO KINDERGARTEN! :(
Let the tears commence!

Part Deux - Chicago

On this episode of Onna & James visit Chicago we'll see some of their favorite spots along their tour of the city!! :)

This... This right here... look how beautiful! I love the mix of the new and the old.. just, well, lovely! If you see the bridge is opened up too, I'll get to why tomorrow!!

Up next, the BEAN! Isn't this thing so neat?
I want it in my front yard. Ok, so my front yard couldn't hold it but still, it would be interesting.

And of course we took our picture in it's reflection, isn't that a requirement?
(look at James' expression LOL cracks me up, I love him)

In that same park, Millennium Park I do believe, was this cool fountain that kiddos were playing in. Truth is it only made me miss Sydney more, but it was super cute! They had this image projected onto one of the fountains. So neat.

The interesting pieces of art/sculpture were everywhere. It's one of the best things about Chicago.

Something that's not so much art but interesting, right? Look at this McD's. So cool.
I can't even begin to tell you about the shopping in Chicago. It does not compare to anything else I've ever experienced my whole life. Stores everywhere and GREAT stores at that. My favorite, I mean what would be Sydney's favorite hehe, American Girl. I'm dying to take her back. She would have come completely unglued here. Look at this girl mecca. AMAZING!

A beach, Chicago has a beach. How cool is that? I didn't get to stay but a minute because my husband is nearing Albino, but to touch my toes to sand and see the water and sand meet, just what I needed! Can I please go back, NOW!?

One day we rode pretty far to get to a cupcake shop that James had heard about on the radio. Gotta love a man that will travel 20 miles for a cupcake!! Back off ladies, he's mine! LOL
anyway, Molly's Cupcakes had these darling swings at their bar as bar stools. I love this idea!

I have more to share. REALLY interesting stuff to share but that will wait for another day.

All I know is I'm still thinking about Chicago and all it had/has to offer. Maybe I could move there!

Chicago - Part 1

Our trip to Chicago began REALLY early on Friday. Our flight left Nashville at 6:45 and we actually got to Chicago at 8:20, which was nice. Eventhough it was early it meant we had the ENTIRE day there, which I loved.

The first funny thing that we are STILL using is this. Turns out in the Chicago airport they say Toilets, not restrooms. I still say "I'm going to the toilets" now LOL

I was super worried about figuring out the transportation while we were there. I had done TONS of research beforehand and lucky for me had the Droid so I could use Google Maps to find our way, without it we would have been lost!
James' first ride on the 'el' train
We arrived at the hotel, The Allerton, at about 9:10 am. I knew we wouldn't be able to check in so I asked if they would hold our bags, turns out they had a room for us already! :) YIPPEE!
Us in our room
The room wasn't large, but it was PERFECT for the two of us. I loved the decor and how simple it was

It even had a little desk area which was nice.

Next was the whole reason for our trip - THIS PLACE
for THIS GUY

As you can tell we were one of the first people that entered into the stadium and we just stood there for a long time taking it all in... we as in James LOL I just took in how happy he was!
The usher was nice enough to take a pic of the both of us together :)

The view from our seats. We sure didn't have the beste but honestly, do you see those people in the bleachers.... they had to be blistered by the end of the game. It was HOT and full sun the entire time!

But quite possibly my favorite part of the trip was that evening after the game. THIS...

Giradano's was UNBELIVABLE. Seriously THIS is pizza, everything else... I'm not sure.
After that we basically walked around and shopped a bit and then WE CRASHED! It was a pretty early start at 4am that morning.
Part 2 tomorrow!
