Spring Forward!

HELLO BLOGWORLD!

It's been awhile. My life just turned crazy busy the past few weeks and I've hardly had time to sleep let alone blog. Things are great here. We are LOVING the weather lately and are so glad to see Spring rearing its beautiful head.

I just have to admit that I'm a pathetic loser! I totally stopped Girlie's 365. I just found myself taking the same picture in the 3 hours we have at night before bed and it was uninteresting to me. So I'm taking a little different route. I'm still going to take pics of things we do and things she does but there won't be a picture from everyday. I should have tried the once a week project. I always take a pic every week.

The biggest thing right now and the hardest for me to grasp is that in a few short months Girlie will be starting KINDERGARTEN :( UGH! How...that's my baby?
We are trying to get into a school that is closer to my work. It's still a public school but I just really want her near my work so that if anything happens I can be right there. That and I can go to all the functions and most importantly she can go to her current daycare after school and during breaks so it would be a place she was very familiar with. I'm praying it happens, please say a small prayer too!

This weekend we are heading to Hazard, KY to see friends. We are both excited, that's Syd and me. Daddy will be home all alone as Nannie has headed to WV to see family as well. Hopefully Daddy will enjoy his weekend of bachelorhood, he deserves it.

We are looking forward to Girlie starting back to swimming. It's been way too long and I believe she starts back next Sunday. She's thrilled. She misses it terribly.

Overall, not much going on in the W household. We are just enjoying each other and all things that come with it.

Hope everyone is having a blessed Friday! Enjoy your weekend and SPRING FORWARD!

Under the weather

Girlie and I have been under the weather since Monday evening. It was terrible and luckily I was way more sick than she was. Today we are back to work and school and while I think I should have stayed home another day, Girlie was plenty ready to get back to her routine at school.

Maybe she was most ready to continue the Dr. Seuss week festivities. She missed two fun days and it broke her heart. Today was crazy glasses day and she wore these...

But, what you should really notice here is her hair. Yes, the glasses are hilarious and SOOO awesome on her, but the side ponytail, it's LIKE TOTALLY AWESOME! I ask every morning how she wants her hair done, she's BIG into this now and this morning, she demanded (ok, she just asked not demanded, otherwise she'd be going with her hair how I wanted it) a side ponytail. She's channeling her 80's soul! I love it!

Oh, and check out me wearing the same shades HERE

Hope everyone reading this is feeling well. I'm so glad that you can't get germs from blogs!

Posing with a picture of me as a child. We look a great deal alike now, but my pictures at her age - same! Note: She did her own hair and makeup LOL

I dunno! Silly pose.

Having fun at a friend's 5th Birthday Party. It was a baking party and it was a blast!

You'd have to know how much Girlie adores her Bitty Baby, so conveniently named "Bitty". We have cake for Bitty's birthday and it is Valentine's Day. We forgot so we "celebrated" Sunday.

Don't judge! hehe

Picking her up at school. This is a mild reaction so there will be another but it's the only pic I took yesterday. I love how excited she gets when I get there.

Still going pretty steady but wish they were more creative! Eh, they are of my girl, you can't get any better than that!
Lastly just for fun. My ridiculous husband being nutty at Old Navy. He found these sunglasses sans lenses and cracked me up. I had to snap a pic. There is NEVER a dull moment.

Valentine's Day at school!

Today is Girlie's Valentine party at her school! I always love when they have any type of event, but isn't Valentine's Day so much fun? We're not all into the hype and stuff, but I do love doing something and I just adore a heart shaped anything, so I'm sucker!

This year I found the cutest idea online for Valentines. I found the idea via UCreate and you can find the original HERE. It was such a great idea I had to grab it up and use it. So we did and here is what we came up with.

Then we decided to make Cookie Dough Truffles for Girlie's teachers. They didn't turn out pretty like the picture on the recipe but James said they tasted good. I had a little trouble with them but I do hope that they turned out. James was still alive this morning so I think all is good LOL They look good, right? EDITED: I tried them last night and I HATED them. Just saying. I'm sorry to those I gave them too :(

So for her teachers I got a set of these heart shaped measuring cups & spoons and then added a little bag of the truffles to it and put the valentine on it. I put a note that said "A true teacher is MEASURED by the size of her HEART!" I think they turned out really cute.
I decided that instead of a lollipop for theirs I'd add a flower. These pink carnations really worked well! The teachers LOVED them this morning!

For the ladies that work in the office & the director I got these cute heart shaped bowls at Michaels and added truffles to them.
Lastly, right after I hit the submit button on this post I'm "delivering" these to Girlie at school. I'm going in the back way so she won't see me and letting the girls take them down to her to be surprised! I know she'll be thrilled!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day!
XOXO
LOVE YOU ALL!
