Birthday Carnival - Part 2: Games, Food & Fun

Each child had to come through the door and get their tickets at the ticket booth and then...

GAME ON!

Complete with silly photo booth

I also had the best carney's on the planet. Thanks to all of you. I couldn't have done it without you. They were even creaming out just like real ones do "Ping Pong Toss, 2 tickets. A winner everytime. Step right up and give it a try!" OMG it made it even better! Oh I love you guys!
The kids had a blast with the games.
and getting faces painted.
Showing off a prize.
But the food... oh the food. Was straight out of a carnival! Hot dogs, nachos, fresh popcorn and cotton candy! YUM! Mom was wonderful making popcorn and cotton candy!
Look at the sugary goodness!
Girlie loved it too!
but we can't forget cake... yummy pretty goodness
She was so embarassed while we sang to her.

And didn't waste a second blowing out the candle.

The cake must have been yummy as we didn't have but like 1 slice left.
Next up, the BEST part!

Birthday Carnival - Part 1: Decor

Yesterday we had THE BEST TIME at Girlie's 5th birthday! We had a carnival theme and it was by far the best party we've had so far. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and seeing the kids love everything was so wonderful to me.

First up the pics of the decorations!

I found this carnival sign at Hobby Lobby. LOVE IT!

Hobby Lobby had this cute ferris wheel centerpiece too. Should have gotten candy for it.

I gave each kid one of these with their tickets to play and they put their prizes in there once they won! I got several things at Oriental Trading.

The games were a HUGE hit! I made these "booths" by hanging table clothes and then streamers to separate. The sign told the kids how many tickets. Ping Pong toss.

Clothespin drop

Duck Pond

basket toss

can toss
ring toss

and face painting. Thanks DD & Jordan!

We had a fun refreshments area!

And the "food court" was festive

The whole place screamed carnival and it was awesome!

Up next... games, food & fun!

365

I've decided that Girlie's 5th year of life will be the year that I document every single day with a pic. I've done a 365 project (well really 366 because mine was during leap year) for myself and I decided right after that I needed a year off and then I would do one for Girlie.

I started on 1/5/10... her birthday.
1/365
5 today!

2/365
Leaving daycare on a very cold day!

3/365
Snuggling with Daddy

Only 362 more to go lol
I'll be sharing them here and there throughout the project. Hope you enjoy!

Fun for her Fifth!

Yesterday was just one of the best days! I was so emotional the night before and then that morning. MY BABY TURNED 5!!! Ugh, emotions!
We had breakfast with Aunt Shelly then headed to get pictures taken by the UH-MAZING Kate Crafton. Oh we love her!
Then we grabbed Nannie and Daddy for dinner and fun.

We had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe.

Our big girl ate her ENTIRE pizza. That's so odd for her.

Enjoyed hanging out with Nannie.

Enjoyed taking pictures of Mommy & Daddy.

Showed me how old she is.

Then Nannie was wonderful and took this family picture of us. Us and our BIG 5 YEAR OLD!

After dinner we headed to Build A Bear. She LOVES this store. She picked a pink unicorn. Sorry to say but quite possibly the UGLIEST thing they had in the store. Op, nope one thing was worse, an Owl - complete with turning head.

She bathed her

Dressed her in a wedding gown. It even has a bouquet and garter! lol

Then she gave her a name...

Her pink unicorns name is: Sally Buckets! LOL

Then we headed home for a teeny cake and a few presents.

Blowing out those candles!

Now, when she opened this she proclaimed, "IT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED!" And continued to play with it as shown below.

When she opened a gift Nannie had gotten her THIS is what Nannie got! Never mind Mommy & Daddy bought EXACTLY WHAT SHE WANTED! Parents aren't shown the love!
But she made it a point to tell me when I asked her favorite present... this. She calls it a Cordion LOL not an accordion. Cordion, folks!

And just because Daddy was extra handsome in his getup! The Dad of a 5 year old! Who teared up when he read my post and watched the slide show yesterday! SO it was wasn't only me who was emotional!!!
It was such a good day! We are excited about the party on Saturday. I'm just hoping that the weather won't interfere!
I have a few videos to show from yesterday and I've started a new project 365 days of Girlie. I'll be taking a picture of her everyday for this entire year. It's not far from what I do now so I should be able to complete this one too!
STAY WARM (to most everyone who reads this, a few of you are in warmer climates and I'm not sure I like you right now!)

5 years big today!

Today is my lovely girl's 5th birthday!

Her "golden" birthday as I've heard some say. Meaning that she turns 5 on the 5th :) I like to think each of her birthdays are golden and will continue to be!

Dear Nugget,

Today you are 5. Everyday you amaze me with something new and entertaining. Your favorite things are pink, pink and well more pink. Anything girlie and sparkly is something you adore and you LOVE doing hair, nails and makeup. My true girlie girl. You've mastered so many things this year; shoe tying, bubble blowing and finger snapping. Every time I turn around you are doing something more grown up and big.

I remember your birth like it were yesterday. It is truly hard to believe it's been 5 years. The moment I saw you I couldn't take my eyes off you and haven't since - never will! You love to make us laugh and it makes my day when you do. You love to read and write and draw and you LOVE anything that I love. :) I'm glad we are close.

When you tell me you love me I melt, literally right there in my seat I just become a puddle of mush. Your hugs and kisses can make the biggest problem or worry quickly disappear. When you look at me and say "can we snuggle?" I am so thankful that you still want too. Oh, and I'll remind you of those days that you still wanted to when you are grown! I ADORE YOU! Daddy and I are so blessed. You are one of the most polite, kind and generous 5 year olds I know. You bring joy to anyone around you and you shine like a star everywhere. Not to say you don't have your moments, you do! Luckily they are getting fewer and fewer. I love the way you love Vegas, your puppy. She adores you and I can tell it is likewise. You girls have bonded so well in the past 5 years.

I can't believe it's been 5 years. For the past 5 years I've been so blessed to be able to be your Mom. I'm so lucky God gave you to me! I hope you know how much I love you and how much I can't wait to watch you grown and succeed. Always know you can tell me anything.

I love you sweet baby! My monkey! I hope you have the best 5th birthday anyone can have!
Keep laughing, it's TOTALLY contagious!

I LOVE YOU!
~Momma

Looking back!
Newborn "Hello World"

Turning 1. Look how tiny!

The big 2. Some say terrible twos but you were a dream. It was more terrible 3 & 4 for us.

Fabulous 3 (well for a minute at least)

This slideshow is long but I had to put it together. These are some of my favorite pictures since day 1! All 137 of them. They are random order, sorry.
