Fab birthday & weekend!

My birthday went great. The entire weekend went great!
It really was one of the best birthdays I've ever had. Turning 32 wasn't so bad. I'm already into my 30's now so it isn't any biggie to me anymore lol I received some marvelous gifts. The office loot listed below, a "fruit" cake (made of towering fruit hehe), a gift certificate for a pedicure, a Wok skillet, a case for my iPod and tickets to the CMA Music Festival on Saturday. I'm so excited about the concert. The peeps playing Saturday night are Josh Turner, Wynonna Judd, Trace Adkins & Martina McBride for sure but I'm pumped! Girlie will be with a sitter (as Mom is out of town at the beach - so jealous) and my Mother-in-law and Father-in-law are suppose to come and have a great time with us! I'm excited! Girlie's teacher got those for me and MAN am I blessed with wonderful people surrounding me.
Friday after work we headed to Mikado's for dinner. It's our local Japanese Hibachi and OMG it's delicious. Seeing as I haven't had anything 1/2 that good in 5 weeks my tastebuds were doing a happy dance :)
My adorable family waiting to be seated

being completely silly with her chopsticks lol

HIBACHI - YUM! - VOLCANO!!!

"Bruce" the BEST HIBACHI COOK EVER!

After dinner we headed home for cake (OMG *drool*) Again, my tastebuds did a happy dance. Girlie decorated it herself. Mom told her what letters to write :)

Saturday was errands and then in the evening we did the Take Steps walk for Crohn's and Colitis. It was so much fun. Our company was a sponsor and our booth did Face Painting. That was a HUGE success. The walk was 2 miles and so wonderful. It was a great cause and it was a super event! I hope to do it again next year!
Our booth

Girlie being oh so cute! She had a blast herself. Jumpy houses, snow cones and artwork - who wouldn't be happy at 4?

James and I (rare pic of just the 2 of us)

Didn't last long - Girlie joins in :) My lovely family..*sigh* I'm blessed!

Afterward we all crashed LOL. Sunday was house cleaning and pool time!

Great birthday, great weekend - well everything was just great great great!

Another year older and a couple more pounds down!

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! :)
It also happens to be weigh-in day. I wasn't thrilled with my results but 2.8 more lbs down so 17.2 total so far. It's frustrating though because this week I added morning workout to my routine so I worked out twice a day and still didn't lose anymore. My highest weight loss has been 5 lbs and I was thrilled. I don't know what I've done wrong the last two weeks! OH well!

I'm trying to look at the bright side and say I lost. My Mom is still a machine losing 3.8 lbs this week! I don't know what I'm doing wrong. In my mind the weight should be falling off. I went from eating anything and everything to just eating healhty options and exercising my butt off daily. I don't see how it's coming off so slowly. Anyway, I had planned a nice dinner that wasn't the most healthy and I had planned on eating a piece of cake but I'm thinking I shouldn't :(

I did come into work and find the most wonderful card from my Mom (it made me cry, in fact I'm still crying) and roses and the biggest bunch of adorable office supplies you've ever seen! I'm so blessed. Even if the pounds are coming off slowly. Why can't I get just through my head that thye are coming off, eventhough not as fast as I wish. UGH!

Here is my loot today from my Mom (who is the greatest woman ever!)

Thanks Mom and I love you more than you'll ever know!

Have a great day everyone!

Walking for Wishes

On June 20th I will be doing a 5K with a dear friend in Lexington, KY. The 5K we are doing is the Walk for Wishes to benefit Make a Wish Foundation. I'm excited to do this walk/run and to help raise money for such an awesome charity! Team FLOWER POWER will be trying to raise $200 total. That's $100 for each of us. That's why I'm blogging with a purpose and favor today!

I'm blogging to ask you to visit my donation page and contribute money toward my walk and to donate to such a worthy charity. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization that fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human spirit with hope, strength and joy. This foundation could really use your contributions! Even if you only donate $5, that will help the cause. If you'd rather just donate to me directly you can do so. Just write a check to me and mail it to my home address :)

Thanks in advance for all who give. I'm excited to do this 5K as part of my new healthy lifestyle and while I might pass out by the end, I know it's for a great cause!

Ready for Summer FUN!

We had a great time this past weekend. Friday night we had dinner and a movie. We saw UP it was so great! Saturday we had a get together for lunch at a friend's house. Diana you're the best, thanks for a great day!

Here's Girlie enjoying time at Diana's

On our way home we stopped at Maggie Moo's for ice cream (for Girlie and James ;) )

Pure Diva

Sunday after church we had POOL TIME! I'm so loving that it's pool time and so is she.

LOVING the new water play set she got. It's a pool sort of but she uses it more for just play (sliding, squirting, etc.)

A little fun with Daddy in the pool

Vegas wasn't thrilled after her bath lol

My two favorite people on the planet! *sigh* I love them!

It was one of the best weekends we've had in awhile. We're all very ready for summer!

Peanut Butter Tart Cookies- YUMMMM!!!

I'm not much of a baker. I never said I was. I make a mean chocolate peanut butter fudge but otherwise I don't have many spectacular dessert recipes, UNTIL NOW!

While looking online for bake sale recipe ideas I ran across a recipe for Peanut Butter Cookie Tarts.

I went a little simpler and took a tip and used Pilsbury Peanut Butter Cookie dough already made. I rolled them into 1-inch balls and put them into mini muffin tins. Baked at the package desired temp for about 7 mins or so (would vary depending on oven I'm sure) and directly out of the oven I pressed the mini Reese Cups right in the center. They've gotten rave reviews from my office folks.

They look cute too!

And keeping with my motivation and will to do this new lifestyle I haven't had a single one. It's the first time in my life I've ever had a Reese Cup in my hand and not put it into my mouth - MY FAVORITE CANDY EVER!

Try them... they look tasty!

Week 4 - still losing!

2.2 more lbs GONE forever!!!!

That's a total of 14.2 lbs down! :) 4.95% of my body weight is LONG GONE :) SAWEET!!!

I'm so proud of myself. So very proud. I've had some rough times thinking it should be happening faster but at this rate if I keep at the pace I'm going now, and I know realistically it can't be great always, I will lose 57.6 lbs by August. That's best case but still, I could possibly be 50 lbs lighter by fall - THAT is amazing!

I know I'm tooting my own horn this morning, but honestly I've never tooted my own horn much and well I wanna! :) It's my blog hehe

Happy Friday everyone!
Keep moving!!!!
