So what...

So what, I haven't posted in a year and 9 months!
So what, life got busy and I have a new job and my child is in 2nd grade.
So much has changed since I last posted. So much has happened. So much!

I'll start with the most important thing, my family.  First of, I am the mother of a very busy, crazy, silly, funny, beautiful, happy, kind, generous, smart, amazingly sweet 2nd grader! WHAT?!? Yes, she started 2nd grade on August 1. She's doing really well and just got her progress report of all A's and 1 B :) Very proud Momma! She also just signed up to audition for the choir at school. This surprises me because something I didn't mention in my list up there is how shy she can be.  I hope that she makes it, I think it will help her tons!! James is still, well James :) He's working and able to get our girl everyday from school, which means the world to me. He's also REALLY into sports cards right now. Trading and selling, but mostly BUYING :)
I love that man. On September 28th we will be married for 10 years :) I have to say I'm very proud of that. In some ways I can't believe how fast it went by and in others I can't believe it's only been 10 years, in a good way!

Now onto what keeps me most busy these days, work. Early 2011 my old company was sold to a larger company. In March 2011 I was let go (along with lots of other folks). In my search I was very lucky. I was able to turn down two jobs to take one I really wanted. I currently work for a Pet food manufacturer. I was hired to support the VP of Marketing and the Marketing team, started April 4, 2011. Since then one VP Marketing turned into 2 VP's Marketing and then back to 1 VP and then I was then asked to support another VP and team. So I am now supporting the VP of Research & Development as well as Marketing and both teams. I stay busy constantly and it really is a very high paced job that takes tons of time away from my family. Even more so now that I'm supporting two very demanding teams. But, I'm praying that the reward is coming. I've always heard hard work pays off and I'm confident that it will! The bonus is that I love the company I work for and the people are amazing too. I've made some great friends.

But overall things are great. BUSY, but great. God continues to bless us daily. He is the only reason I stay sane :)

I hope to keep up with this again. Might not be anything interesting, but I'm doing it for me this time. For some place to put down my thoughts and more of a journal.

Happy Thursday!!

ICE!

Last night we had the best time at Gaylord Opryland's ICE! We've been nearly every year since girlie was big enough and we were very excited to go back this year.
My bosses were very kind and purchased the tickets for us as a gift so it was even better going for free :)

This years theme was...

It was so neat seeing everything made of ice. How these people make this is beyond me!

I was particularly fond of the statue pond in the village. So neat!

The soliders were neat too and so cute, who could they intimidate?! hehe

My loves

Probably the most fun part is this area, toyland. They have four ICE SLIDES! that's right. Slides made of ice that you can actually slide down! Fun times!

Girlie LOVES this part!

Reading all those letters... I hope he got mine!
I thought these houses were adorable.

Then we unfortunately came to the end of Santa Clause is comin' to town

but then the best part was waiting ahead.
An entire nativity scene made of ice. Wow it's stunning. They always have it but every time I see it it takes my breath away. They also play Christmas music and an amazing voice reads the Christmas story. So awesome.

The mere size of it is so awesome. It's really a site. Just beautiful. Breathtaking really.

We hope you will have a very

From our house to yours!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Behind... way behind!

Hello Blogland!
I know it's been way too long. Like forever long but honestly I haven't had anything worth blogging about. Even right now, while I'm typing this, I can't come up with a single good reason that I'm blogging. Well, maybe except for Jennifer!

HELLO JENNIFER!

She emailed me the other day and asked when I planned on updating the blog.
So this is your update LOL

Things have been going great. Girlie is finally adjusted nicely to school and is doing much better behavior wise. We had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving with my brother and his family in North Carolina. We are gearing up for a wonderful Christmas (NEXT WEEK - GET OUT!) and we had our first notable snowfall this week (maybe I'll get a few pics of that up in a bit)

But the biggest event coming up is the 6th birthday of our beautiful girlie! :)
How did she get so big so fast? TIME PLEASE SLOW DOWN!

Until next time (whenever that may be)
Have a great day!

Let's Get Ready to SHOWER!!!

This weekend we spent time in Louisville doing fun celebrations. Saturday was my neice's 10th bithday party. We celebrated wtih a fun time skating. Sunday I threw a baby shower for hubby's cousin. She's having her first boy of 4 gilrls between the two of them and her youngest is 14, so she needed somethings :)

Since they decided to go with a sports theme for the baby's room I decided I would carry that through the shower :) It worked nicely I think!

The centerpieces were vases filled with green shred and then different sports balls and pennants. I sat them on a piece of scrapbook paper with baby booties and a big plastic paci.

I didn't really get pics of the football and basketball ones.

For the food table I made this green football field tablecloth. Just got green fabric and used white medical tape for the yard lines :) Easy, inexpensive and I think it turned out adorable.

Wrapped the napkins with basic white paper and Cricut cutouts.

We had the yummiest cupcakes. I topped them with picks I made and cupcake wrappers I cut out of scrapbook paper.
I gave all the food fun sports names. If you look closely you can tell these were curve ball cupcakes :)

Since sporting events are nothing without popcorn, peanuts & cracker jacks :) Paper cones made from scrapbook paper.

I made tissue pom poms and hung the different sports balls from them.

Made this banner with scrapbook paper. I used the Cricut for the letters.

The drink station. Used those ever popular stripped straws, made coordinating sports labels for the water. Lucked up and found sports drinks in sports ball containers :)

I had centered that pom and the pennants on the food table but then we had to move it a little and I never got around to moving them. I found these plain pennants and let the kids decorate them however they wanted the day before. They had a blast and it added a little extra touch. I hung them all over the shower spot

I made the cheeseball in the shape of a football but forgot a closeup before it was dug into :) It was sooo yummy. I found an easy easy easy recipe online and it was SO GOOD!

Veggies - Victory Veggies that is lol

Close up of the cupcakes... just to get your mouth watering LOL
at least mine is.

Momma loved it. She found the perfect shirt for the shower too. TEAM BABY! I didn't want to post her pic here but I also asked everyone to wear their fav jersey or team shirt and I wore a referee jersey :) It was a fun time!

Sleeping Diva

This is how I found girlie last night when I did my final check before I turned in.

Appears to me that someone is a diva even in their sleep! It all seems that maybe someone needs a sleeping mask LOL

I adore her!

Baseball & High Heels

WOW I've been slacking! I haven't really too much to post about lately. I've been taking pics of girlie everyday before school but posting them on Facebook and didn't figure need for them here. But I have something to blog about today.... baseball!!

Girlie has been wanting a baseball glove and bat for sometime and this weekend she finally got one. But not just any glove and bat would do. Miss THANG had to have pink, of course.

Saturday evening her and Daddy went out to play a bit and I had to get some pics of her first time playing "catch" with Daddy. What's even better is the child put on a skirt and "heels" to play in!

Look at that face... the concentration! She missed, but gave it 110%

see the heels?

This cracks me up... a running throw? I love the action here!

She's got a decent arm really!

Daddy showing her the batters stance lol

She actually hit it a few times!!

She loved it! But mostly I think she loved her pink sports gear, and what girl wouldn't?
But baseball in heels... she amazes me!

Lunch time!

I will now admit to you that I took the entire first week of girlie's first week at school OFF FROM WORK. That's right, vacation time for me to stay at home and do nothing. Or shop, eat and shop more! :)

Thursday I decided to go have lunch with girlie at school. She was surprised to see me and loved that I was there to have lunch with her. I hope I can do it more times in the future.

I wanted to grab at least a few pics of the occassion.

Look at her face in this first one. That girl is nuts LOL
-

But then I asked for a better face and got this... much better LOL

Then we both smiled for the camera and I think she was posing the corn dog stick as well!
hehe

It was fun and I had wished with all the wishes I have that they were having the school pizza, as you can see I didn't luck up, but maybe next time. Notice that girlie chose the chocolate milk as well, her fave. I hate that I can't make sure she doesn't have it LOL At least she runs it off before she gets home.
I can't wait to do it again.
